An early-stage one of its kind deep-tech startup changing the landscape of the EV ecosystem in India through innovation.
Considering they are category creators trying to manufacture multiple components which were typically imported from China in the EV space, they decided to build their Intellectual Property function & hire a leader. Founders had clarity of specific companies that they wanted to target.
The company operated in a sector that is still at a nascent stage & there is a dearth of talent in the Indian startup ecosystem. There are multiple legacy global brands with active talent pool but they lack the interest & orientation to associate themselves with a startup because of a wide range of reasons.
Colosseum used its robust process to execute this search.
Basis our understanding of the core expectations of this role - we shared a sample pool of candidates from globally established brands like GE, Bosch, Johnson Controls etc. who were driving the Intellectual Property function in India to give them a landscape of the talent that is available in the market.
Post calibration we shortlisted our initial P0's and started our outreach. Potential candidates were given a thorough landscape of the EV space in the startup ecosystem, the company's existing product & their expansion plans - how they intend to disrupt the market.
Expectations from the role (short term & long term) were clearly communication along with the potential career roadmap so that they have visibility on what is in store for them if they move from an established brand to a New Age startup.
