Need
The founders were clear that they needed someone who has worked on building a robust compliance and regulatory capability for any financial services conglomerate.
Search Challenge
Fintech and Investment Tech platforms in India were a new thing a few years back and the ecosystem was filled with traditional financial services firms offering various investment products to customers. Compliance leaders in such firms had zero to low experience on building compliance & regulatory capabilities for a digital first fintech platform.

Research
We identified all Financial Services Firms in India who have some digital presence for investment products.
E.g. - Most FS companies had started doing digital KYC for customer onboarding and some broking firms had entered online trading. We mapped out the entire market for above mentioned targeted companies and engaged with all compliance & regulatory leaders.
Outreach
We developed a very detailed Fintech Industry future story aligned to our clients vision and growth plans to share and develop candidate interest. We further spent time on assessing culture fit based on candidate orientation towards tech-1st businesses as future of FS along with comfort of working with younger founders with 1st principal thinking.
Calibration
The search dynamics kept evolving with every candidate interview given the nature of hire and first of its kind role in the market. This led to multi layer calibration throughout the process with founders regularly.
